PERSONAL PROJECT · LIVE WEBSITE · AI-ASSISTED BUILD

Myth Atlas.

Using AI to take a content-rich website from idea to publication.

I used AI throughout the build: generating the website code, helping collect and organize mythology content, and creating selected display images. The result is a live English–Chinese atlas that readers can explore through an interactive world map and searchable entries.

THE BUILD APPROACH

AI across the whole workflow.

The project explores how far one person can take a complete website with AI assistance across implementation, content, and imagery. My role was to direct that process and bring those pieces together into a published product.

The engineering challenge extends beyond generating a page: the site needs a consistent content model, bilingual navigation, searchable entries, and a way to distinguish sourced material from generated interpretation.

ENGINEERING DECISIONS

Structure around generated content.

A structured collection

Each entry lives in a structured JSON record. A shared tradition registry drives pages and map navigation, while schema checks catch missing fields and invalid data before publication.

Two languages, shared navigation

English and Chinese content share the same entry structure. Search accounts for CJK text, so discovery does not depend on English-style word boundaries.

Illustration with visible provenance

The collection combines sourced artwork with selected AI-generated editorial illustrations. Image records distinguish those origins; generated art is presented as interpretation, not historical evidence.

VALIDATION & LIMITS

A working site, with inspectable sources.

The repository includes entry-schema validation, content and image audits, and regression tests for search and navigation. These checks address data consistency and site behavior; they do not establish the historical accuracy of every narrative.

Mythology has regional variants and conflicting accounts. AI-assisted content still needs source review, and generated illustrations are editorial artwork. This is an evolving exploration product, not a scholarly reference work.
